Dale Cox Bucking Bulls, LLC
2010 was a year of hard work and celebration for Dale Cox Bucking Bulls, LLC and Diamond C Bar
ranch. It was a year of hard work, true grit and never-give-in persistence to further solidify a top
quality foundation for raising, owning, and breeding top bucking bulls.
Dale Cox began his career with livestock in rodeo in 1978, working for a rodeo company, hauling
rough stock, putting up rodeo pens, riding bucking horses, bull riding and working as a pickup
man in the late 1970’s. His ranch upbringing by his grandfather (after the untimely death of his
father) around horses and cattle revealed a gift he has for handling and working livestock. A
career ending bull riding injury in June 1985, steered Dale into to performance horse specialization
for many years, training with and working alongside the legendary John Lyons. This work resulted
in Dale becoming one of the most sought-after horsemen in the southeast for several decades.
That endeavor matured his business acumen, animal husbandry, and his determination to always
be personally attuned to his animals and their needs to reach peak performance.
However, Dale never lost his long-held desire to be a successful bucking bull stock contractor;
rather his passion for the sport and the stock only grew. Owning and raising bucking bulls had
been a dream long kept to himself. In 2009 he began building Dale Cox Bucking Bulls, LLC, using
the Diamond C Bar brand, which had been his registered brand for a long time. Dale in 2009,
purchased bulls, cows, heifers and straws of semen from the oldest and most well known genetic
lines in the bull industry. Dale became friends with and sought the advice from some of the most
well known bull contractors in the business. He purchased lines of stock for competition and for
starting his own breeding program. In 2009 Dale was also choosing appropriate genetics and
acquiring bulls to haul to futurities and bull riding events. That year he was blessed with the
purchase of D10 Ruby Red from Elrod Bucking Bulls. Ruby Red also went on to be the 2009 ABC
Bucking Bull of the Year. In 2010, D10 Ruby Red returned home to his original home with Elrod
Bucking Bulls.
In 2010 the culmination of dedication, attention to quality and Dale’s uncompromising integrity
was the hard earned award for 2010 PBBA Stock Contractor of the Year. Additionally, his bulls
were recognized by winning 2010 PBBA Bucking Bull of the Year, 2010 PBBA Reserve Bucking Bull
of the Year, 2010 PBBA Fifth Place Bull of the Year, and 2010 PBBA Third Place Futurity Bull of the
Year. Since earning these honors, Dale was pleased to pass these great bulls on to others eager
to add proven stock to their own programs.
Dale Cox Bucking Bulls sought and obtained well bred cows from established programs along with
heifers raised out of those cows. Each cow brings meticulously chosen genes to produce crosses
with outstanding lines of his own. To build on his foundation genetics in his maturing herd, in 2011
Dale Cox Bucking Bulls purchased #375 Cool Cash from Don Kish, one of many well-respected,
Kish bred bulls that has had a long career in the PBR and PRCA. Cool Cash will be bred to all cows
in 2011. Dale Cox Bucking Bulls will be one of very few bucking bull ranches in the east that raise
calves out of the Kish program.
One thing is for certain, as a follow-up to the blessed successes of 2010, Dale Cox Bucking Bulls is
more driven than ever to maintain its integrity and success and strive for even higher goals. This
season will see our young bulls at futurity and derby events, in the ABBI, NBBA, and PBBA. We will
also expand our “own a bull “ program by offering shares, partnerships and other ways to provide
bucking bull fans an opportunity to feel closer to the sport without needing to live on a ranch or
know anything about feeding and caring for bulls.
